Evenin' yall.
I'm back. Although I'm a very damaged kitty who has experienced many things beyond my age; mainly, working. Yes, during the Summer I worked at the Science Communication Unit and worked my cotton socks off on a project called Map Your Future. It was many kinds of science goodness, and did make me feel like Mini-Gore. I also went to the Science Communication Masterclass and the BA Festival; so slowly, I'm stacking up those 'experiences' that make you a little bit more like an adult.
Right now, apart from Uni and Head of Music duties, I'm also interning at the Science Media Centre. This has been both incredible and earth shattering difficult! I would like to think I'm a confident social being; but being in a media work space has totally prooved me wrong. I am indeed, a young naive quivering mess when it comes to things like answering the phone, sending a report to the whole of the office (what if, god forbid, I spelt something wrong?!) and the worst, eating lunch in front of people who earn more than I could imagine.
However, I've come to love the fact that once a week I have to kick myself up my own proverbial backside and conquer some obscure fear I have associated with staplers or photocopiers or the internet. I've met Lord Drayson, sat in a press briefing done by Robert Winston and met so many important journos it's actually ridiculous. Maybe I am cut out for this media malarky?
I'm starting to say 'darling' already.
